In a couple of hours, you can enjoy the ancient history of Rome, understanding its majesty thanks to the incredible views the Colosseum, Caesar’s Palace, the Circus Maximus, and the Aventine hill can offer you.
We meet in front of the Colosseum Metro entrance and start our walk through ancient history.
Visit the amphitheater from outside to better understand the virtuosity of the roman engineering and physics, imagining thousands of people in the second century queueing at the numbered gates to enjoy the cruel shows of gladiators on the arena inside the most gorgeous building for entertainment ever built. The place of the power to domine the plebs.
Walking all around it, you’ll be able to take fantastic pictures of the symbol of the eternal city.
In a few minutes we’ll reach the Circus Maximus, the stadium the Romans used for chariots races, built many centuries before Christ, the first one place for entertainment in the city of Rome. Just in front of it, there’s a spectacular view of the Caesar’s Palace and all its majesty, probably the best view you can ever have to understand, only looking at the ruins, how immense and majestic it was once.
Sometimes our imagination is not enough, that’s why I usually work with very good visual material to show you and help you to go back in time.
Everybody knows Rome was built on 7 hills, to finish our visit there is no better way than a walk on the Aventine hill, the most residential area of Rome today, but full of ancient history with its paleochristian churches and an incredible surprise waiting for you at the embassy of the Knights of Malta.
The tour ends, as all tours should in my opinion, in front of the Cafe’ of Saint Anselmo for the deserved relax!
