Everybody know that Siena is magnificent, a pearl of Gothic, and a World Unesco Heritage from 1995, but she (I always talk about my city as a “lady”) wouldn’t be the same without the Palio, the so ancient tradition of horse race that takes place twice a year inside the shell of Piazza del Campo. So, in a three-hour long walking tour, we touch the key-points of the town, and discover everything about her art, tradition, architecture, history, and food! I assure you an amazing tasting of our delicious Sienese cakes in one of the best bakeries in town.
Moreover, we will have a full immersion in the most famous horse race in Italy, so passionate and unpredictable: an exciting journey from Middle Ages to the present, and beyond.
Our walk will start from the external city gates and walls, then we will enter the Medieval city discovering the main monuments, such as the Cathedral, the Public Palace, the Santa Maria della Scala hospital, the imposing churches and sanctuaries (in external, you can choose one of them to be visited).
We will also visit one of the 17 Museums which belong to the 17 Contrade, the districts in which Siena is divided, the ones that run for the victory in the Palio horse race.
INCLUDED: tour fee, Sienese cake tasting
