The Gianicolo to Trastevere walking tour starts from the “Faro degli Italiani” (Italian Lighthouse) square, up on the Gianicolo hill, stops by the “Anita Garibaldi” equestrian monument, then a wall with engraved words from the 19th century Roman Republic Constitution; starts going down towards the monumental fountain of “Acqua Paola”, aka “er Fontanone” (big fountain in roman slang), stops at the monument dedicated to the heroes of the roman revolution in 1849; then heads to S. Peter in Montorio church and the marvellous “Tempietto del Bramante” a beautiful Renaissance masterpiece. The walk will end in the famous Trastevere neighbourhood.
