Garbatella district is an enchanting area of Rome, a city in the city, a garden town, a successful experiment of architecture and life.
Far from the noisy traffic we’ll stroll around its streets looking for countless details and tasting its authentic lifestyle. We will taste some roman delicacies and a good glass of wine. Easily reaching by metro from the city center it’s a “Rione” , despite of the fact of being out of the Aurelian Walls ( the ancient roman fortification system ) because is considered an historical part of the city.
Its remarkable architecture , called” barocchetto romano “ is a surprising style where the shape of the roofs and the length of the windows and doors change. Strange animals look at us , shadows are “painted” on the walls using different colours of bricks .
The character of the area is genuine and you can meet people sitting outside their house chatting with friends, washing lines ; kids playing in the several courtyards; colourful gardens full of flowers and fruit trees.… moreover smells of savouring prepared meals.
