Take a panoramical hike in the 5 Terre national Park, trough the cliff side paths, and finish the day swimming into the clear sea water of this park.
CinqueTerre is one ofthe most beautiful parks in Italy, indeed milions of tourists visit the 5 small villages of this park. Famous for its beauty, and for its most tipical product, the limoncino, the 5 small villages are now part of the UNESCO heritage since 1997.
Our hike will start in Manarola, the small town of fishermen, to reach Corniglia, the cliff top village from where you will be able to admire the entire coast line of the park. After Corniglia we will go to to Vernazza, the prettiest of the villages where you will be free to reach the top of the tower, once part of an ancient military fortress. From Vernazza we will take the train and with a very short ride (3 minutes ish) we will be in Monterosso, the biggest and last of the villages, once there you’ll be free to visit the town or take a refreshing swim into the clean water of the ligurian sea.
Highly recommend to try the tipical liquor of this place, the limoncino, after a delicious portion of pasta with pesto during your free time in each town.
Be prepared to hike!
These ancient trails are rough but manageable. Be prepared for the hiking – although the path is open to everyone, remember that the ground can be slippery, uneven, and in places steep and narrow. The charm of the area is that it is natural and unspoiled, do not expect hand rails or safety rails when steps are steep or when the path is close to the cliff edge. Because of the nature of the hike, we are unable to accept small children or anyone with walking difficulties.
What to Bring:
Suitable walking shoes (sneakers, walking boots or closed toe shoes with non-slip soles – no flipflops!); bring a water bottle and dress for the weather (hat, sunscreen, swimsuit and towel if you want to take a dip in the sea, comfortable clothes, a waterproof in case of bad weather) …and don’t forget your camera!
